Dhimmis or Dummies?

An older but very topical article on Bill Muehlenberg’s blog:

http://billmuehlenberg.com/2013/10/17/dhimmi-and-apostate-church-leaders/

He writes:

“Things are real bad when we see apostasy amongst our church leaders. And things are real bad when we see dhimmitude embraced and accepted by our church leaders. But things are even worse yet when we see church leaders succumbing to both.”

If you don’t know what a dhimmi is here is a google-searched definition:

Dhimmi was the name applied by the Arab-Muslim conquerors to indigenous non-Muslim populations who surrendered by a treaty (dhimma) to Muslim domination. Islamic conquests expanded over vast territories in Africa, Europe and Asia, for over a millennium (638-1683).

There are many dhimmis, or as I prefer to call them, dummies, in the Australian Churches today who are allowing non-godly influences to permeate through their assemblies.  The major influences would be homosexual tolerance, abortion promotion and Islamic toleration – all in the name of Christian love.

As if God is tolerant of sin – any quick reading of the Bible will refute that one!

It is all very well to welcome all kinds of sinners into the Churches if the Gospel is preached to them, but under no circumstances should it be made plain to them that God welcomes them into His family if they reject the sacrifice of His Son Jesus to atone for their sin and then reject a change to embrace a Christian way of life.

I am not talking about the sins we commit every day then repent and ask forgiveness for.  All Christians still sin – unfortunately it is in the nature of our human mortality.   I am referring to people remaining in sin, eg, living lifestyles of homosexuality, adultery or promiscuity, being pro-abortion or pro-Islamic in their expression.

All of the above are to be found in many Churches today – not just Uniting, Anglican or Catholic Churches – but many Baptist, Pentecostal and Churches of Christ groups and their denominational leaders are “dhimmis” as far as the eternal, written Word of God is concerned.

True Christians have become a tiny minority in this country and have very good reason not to faint in fear, but to “look up, for your redemption is drawing nigh.”

Jesus is coming soon.
